Minister to state that the question of Min Ajets's
Government continuing to offer protection to British
aaipa against piracy in China has dready been very
fully examined.
The uestion was considered both at home in the
#arly part of last year by Bin Hajanty's late Government,
and by the unti-Piracy Committee it "ong Kane, which had
the benefit of full consultation with the Jocal represent
tives of the aipping companies. he considered
the
recona mnadationg of this committee more commulo ted by

on ugust 28th, 1939. He informed them at the gme time
that it devolved upon them to develop and regulate their
own anti-piracy precautions us beat quitia their own type
